The BusBoys Launch Summer Nights Online Video Contest: Fans Invited to Create Video for Single "It Must Be Saturday Night" Cash Prizes Offered for Top Three Spots

Iconic rockers The BusBoys launch online video contest for their current single release, It Must Be Saturday Night." Cash prizes offered for Top 3 winners.

Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) May 8, 2007 -- Groundbreaking rock band The BusBoys, who roared through the LA music scene and became an instant sensation in the early '80s, have launched the Summer Nights Online Video Contest for fans to submit videos to "It Must Be Saturday Night," the first single from their current Sex, Love and Rock & Roll music project. The top three winning videos will receive cash prizes of $1,000, $300 and $200 respectively.

All video submissions will be posted on YouTube at www.youtube.com/group/thebusboys, and Brian O'Neal and The BusBoys will select winners based on the number of YouTube views and comments in conjunction with their own internal voting.

It Must Be Saturday Night
Hailed in the Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone, LA Times and Time Magazine, their '80s CD "Minimum Wage Rock & Roll" landed them a deal with Arista Records and continues to influence a host of other innovators.

This year has brought a resurgence of interest in the iconic band with the first time ever U.S. release of Eddie Murphy's "Delirious" DVD, on which they are featured. Previously The BusBoys built a massive, loyal fan base after their high-profile involvement with Murphy in his blockbuster Paramount film debut "48 HRS," a "Saturday Night Live" appearance and subsequent live tour opening for Murphy. In the days and years since, under the direction of lead singer/songwriter Brian O'Neal, the band has performed on countless tours, appeared on numerous sound tracks, in films, on TV and was nominated for a Grammy.

Their now-classic anthem "The Boys Are Back In Town" has never gone away, and is often heard as a sports arena staple; and the current economic environment has made their CD, "Minimum Wage Rock & Roll," topical once again. The BusBoys are currently in talks with major television outlets for the use of "It Must Be Saturday Night" as a theme for this year's college football season.

All interested fans can enter the video contest at www.busboys.com or at www.myspace.com/itmustbesaturdaynight. Contest rules are posted at these sites, along with entry forms. Contest entrants will receive an MP3 of the "It Must Be Saturday Night" single at no charge.
